Duiken is een serieuze sport

Gracebrook Vineyard

Gracebrook vineyard is the perfect spot for a Sunday afternoon. Loads of space for kids to run around, an outside seating with beautiful views and when it gets chilly you can move close to the fireplace. They serve local produced cheeses and the grapes are grown right in front of the old stables. Needless to say that some of us did not have the pleasure of raising the glass as they had to drive ;-)

Beechworth waterfalls

Just made it across!

Ever watched a crab race?

We did at the Oxley easter market, do we need to feel sorry for the crabs?!

Easter 2010, en weer een worstje..

Sunbathing Roo at Healesville Sanctuary

"Hij heeft geen in zijn pouch" zegt Finn.
Training to be a vet at the wildlife hospital!
This is the animal hospital (Australian Wildlife Health Centre) in the Healesville Sanctuary, a beautiful bush park zoo well worth visiting. A lot of the injured or homeless animals from the 2009 bushfires were brought here for shelter. The hospital is rather impressive.

Birds of prey show

3 Eagles, 1 of the Sanctuary and two wild ones, well conditioned though as they seem to know what time the show starts!

Wombat

We have not seen one in the wild as yet but you do see them killed on the side of the road.

Only 12 degrees

A bit cold amongst the gum trees, somehow it is always cold when we go on a trip!

Marysville

We decided to make a little trip over the 4 day Easter holiday. Nearly impossible as all ozzies travel over Easter somehow. So we found a last minute deal (no not cheap, lucky to find a place for the night!)
It was not hard to guess the motel was called "Tower Motel" and we were not out of reach with our mobile phones but might have some brain freeze from sleeping so close to this tower!!
On a serious note, Marysville suffered badly last year on Black Saturday and was nearly completely destroyed after the worst bush fires ever. It is now in a rebuild phase. As we drove into the area many trees are still charred but at the same time it is so green again. 173 people died and 2000 homes were destroyed.
